Message from Rob Wittman:
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As your Representative in Congress, I want you to know that I am committed to strengthening maternal health outcomes and ensuring women and families have access to the care and support they need before, during, and after pregnancy.
Women deserve healthcare that works for them and resources that support the transition to motherhood. That’s why I cosponsored the Newborns Essentials Support Toolkit (NEST) Act — which authorizes an existing pilot program within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to provide items such as diapers, wipes, breastfeeding supplies, and postpartum mental health resources to communities in need. This legislation will support mothers and families as they bear the financial responsibility that comes with having a child.
I am a cosponsor of the Preventing Maternal Deaths Reauthorization Act of 2025, bipartisan legislation that helps states improve maternal healthcare throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The bill also works to address disparities in maternal health and find solutions to enhance healthcare quality and outcomes for mothers, especially in rural areas.
Additionally, I proudly support the Help Ensure Lower Patient Copays Act, intended to end discriminatory copay accumulating by ensuring that all copays count toward a patient’s cost sharing requirements, regardless of their source. Lowering the cost of care will ensure all women have access to the procedures they need.
I believe we must reform our healthcare system and support legislation that protects vulnerable mothers, especially those with pre-existing conditions. I remain committed to supporting legislation that supports women’s health and helps mothers and families thrive.
Sincerely,

Rob Wittman
Member of Congress, Virginia’s 1st District
