Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Where you live shouldn’t determine whether you can access quality health care.
Many communities across Virginia’s First District rely on local hospitals and rural clinics for emergency care, primary care, and specialized services. That’s why I supported the creation of the Rural Health Transformation Program.
The program provides up to $50 billion nationwide to strengthen rural health care systems, and Virginia has been awarded nearly $190 million to help modernize facilities, strengthen provider networks, improve patient outcomes, and expand access to care in underserved communities. This funding will help rural providers modernize services, recruit and retain health care professionals, and continue serving patients close to home.
I also joined my Virginia colleagues in urging approval of Virginia’s successful application because these investments are critical to protecting access to care for families throughout the Commonwealth.
I’ll continue working to strengthen rural health care so families can receive quality, affordable care without traveling hours from home.
Thank you for allowing me to serve you in Congress.
Sincerely,

Rob Wittman
Member of Congress, Virginia’s 1st District
